Should I Consider A Seawall?
![]()
Seawalls create a barrier to fend off wave action that would otherwise eat away at the land where it meets the water. Beaches whether they are on the oceanfront , lakefront or riverside properties often warrant the installation of a seawall. Also, waterfront property owners often use boulders, rip rap(large rocks, broken concrete) to protect their property from the endless wave and current action. One of todays more popular systems is the synthetic vinyl retaining walls system. Advancements in UV resistance has made the use of the PVC very popular as its long life span and its maintenance free surfaces. The finished product is a smoother, attractive, and safer waterfront. If you currently have a waterfront requiring a seawall to better protect or improve your waterfront, I strongly suggest considering the use of a PVC seawall systems and composite decking. This will in most cases dollar for dollar increase the value of your waterfront property.
